Orlando is a great place to live! Let us show you a great selection of Orlando homes for sale.

Much more than Disney World!

When most people think about Orlando, their first thoughts are usually about Disney World and the other major theme parks (such as Universal and Sea World). People also imagine Kennedy Space Center, just down the road, and world-class beaches within an hour’s drive.

While these are great reasons to visit Orlando, there are many more wonderful reasons to LIVE in Orlando:

  • Orlando is home to the University of Central Florida, the second-largest university in the USA (more than 64,000 students).
  • Orlando is a thriving center for technology
  • Orlando is a major center for simulation and technology (and hosts the Department of Defense Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation)
  • Orlando has a wonderful climate
  • Orlando has a low cost of living (and no state income tax!)
  • The cost of housing in Orlando is moderate.

Each of these adds up to Orlando being a GREAT place to live. (Just ask me … I live here!).

Family friendly!

Tons of stuff to do in the Orlando area!

Young families can get annual passes for Florida residents which allow you to visit either during the week, or on a weekend when all the other families around the country are stuck in school. We would occasionally just drive down to Disney on a Friday evening after work to watch the fireworks. With an annual pass you don’t feel any pressure to race around just to see and do everything in one day.

There’s always something going on in Orlando. The Orange County Convention Center has over 2 million square feet of exhibition space, and hosts literally hundreds of conventions and meetings each year.

The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Orlando, was opened in 2014, and hosts world-class performances and education events (for the kiddies) year-round.

Orlando’s Amway Center is home to Orlando Magic and the Orlando Solar Bears. The Amway Center also routinely hosts a variety of spectacular concerts and shows throughout the year. Recent examples include Bon Jovi; James Taylor; Justin Timberlake; Rod Stewart; and Shakira.

Of course, golfers just love the Orlando area. Orlando is renowned as the home of Arnold Palmer (Bay Hill Club) and Tiger Woods (lives in Isleworth). There are over 170 golf courses in the Orlando area, so it shouldn’t be hard to find a course that fits your playing style.

Orlando has a multitude of activities. Whether you enjoy being outdoors in the parks or bike trails, or on the water; or enjoying sports and entertainment. The Orlando area has something for everyone who lives here.

People also come to Florida for the weather.

You can participate in outdoor activities year round.

Of course, summertime in Orlando is a great time to get out on the lakes, and into the water. But, let’s face it … it does get a little warm. On the other hand, most of the year is very pleasant – our family has spent several Christmases on the beach!

It’s great to explore the area around Orlando. With just a short drive, you can be on one of the many area beaches; enjoying a day trip to historic St. Augustine; or spending time in the countryside.

One of my favorite places to spend time (and to show visiting family members) is the Orlando Wetlands Park. Just 20 miles east of Orlando, this park is great for relaxing on over 20 miles of trails, and observing the wildlife, which includes alligators, and many migrating birds.
